Education
Our educational programs ensure each child is respected as an individual within a group and is encouraged to reach their full potential.
We believe that children should develop connections and relationships with their communities and that everyone has the right to belong.
At Learning Ladder Early Leaning centre we do not babysit your child; we are an educational centre where we educate and prepare your child for the future.
We take a holistic view in our approach to our curriculum and programming: understanding what is needed for the whole child to develop their skills in the following developmental areas. We do this by taking observations on the children and planning activities to support the children and ensure that the child can reach certain developmental milestones.
We also use the Australian Early Years Learning Framework as the guide to how children will best learn and develop for their age group.
Our 9 Learning Steps

Kathy Walker
The approach to learning is based on the theory of ‘learning through play’, this theory combines intentional teaching, with the children influencing what and how they learn throughout: exploration, problem solving and risk taking. This approach encourages children to be motivated to engaged in learning and resilience.
Reggio Emilia
- The learning is lead by the child
- The educator is there to mentor and support the child and extend on the childrens’ thoughts, ideas and interests
- The environment support and provides learning opportunities,
- This approach encourages children to be inquirers: to examine the environment, educators and other children for answers and encourages children to be life-long learners.
