"FOSTERING LOVE FOR CARE THROUGH MONTESSORI LEARNINGS"

FAQs

Operating hours vary between centres, however they are generally open from 6.30am to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday, 52 weeks a year. We’re not open on weekends or public holidays. We recommend checking with your local centre about their operating times.
Learning Ladder Boutique Early Learning Centres provide morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and sometimes breakfast and a late snack where required. Our menu is designed by qualified nutritionists and changes regularly, to create fresh, healthy meals to satisfy even the fussiest of eaters. A nutritious diet is vital for children’s development, so we make sure to provide meals that give children all the nutrients and energy they need to learn and play.
Getting started with Learning Ladder is simple! We invite you to book a tour of the centre you wish to enrol at. This will give you the best opportunity to see our centres “up close”. Our friendly centre directors will be there to answer any questions you might have and provide you with an enrolment pack that contains everything you need to know about the centre, information we need from you about your child for example their routine, as well as a quote for your daily fees. We encourage you to ask as many questions as you like, we are here to support both you and your child.
From time to time our centres may become full. If there are no vacancies at the centre of your choice, you may want to join their waiting list. These waitlists are regularly reviewed and families are contacted once a place becomes available. If you wish to no longer be on a particular centre’s waitlist then you can remove yourself by contacting the centre directly.
Our childcare centres closes for public holidays. You will still be charged as normal. However: If you give 2 weeks notice, we only charge 50% of the usual fee.
Yes, fees still apply for sick days, however your Centre Director may be able to arrange a make-up or swap day at their discretion. The Child Care Subsidy will cover up to 42 absence days a year with no documentation and unlimited sick days if you’re able to provide a medical certificate or similar.

The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is a payment offered by the Australian Government for which you may be eligible. To find out if you are eligible for CSS visit the Department of Human Services website humanservices.gov.au. Depending on your personal circumstances, there may also be other government funding available. The Child Care Subsidy is means tested based on the combined family income, the fortnightly activity of families – such as work, study or volunteering – and the type of service a child attends.

As part of the Child Care Subsidy, the number of hours of subsidised care you’ll be entitled to will be based on your level of recognised activity. Understanding the different types of activity that will be recognised is key to maximising your Child Care Subsidy.

Yes, we do. We will post information about these here on the website and on our Facebook Page. If you would like more information as we approach the opening then please subscribe to our newsletter and we will keep you informed of all updates. Alternatively you can also book a tour of any of our centres at a time that is convenient to you.

A phone call is appreciated so we can let our educators know, alternatively you can mark your child absent on our convenient app.
The Learning Ladder team pride itself on strong communication through a variety of mediums. We communicate important messages and notices by posting information in your child’s room (and on the room door), in our communications book, on our Facebook page, our parents app and through email.
If you need to speak to the Manager and they are not available, please leave a message with your child’s educator and we will get back to you within 24-48 hours.
We encourage all families to participate in the orientation process. Parents are required to stay with the child during this visit, and fees will apply from the child’s start date as indicated on the enrolment form. For more information visit our information page on transitioning to childcare or speak to management about our individualised orientation process for your child.
The best people to talk to about your child’s progress are the Learning Ladder educators in their room. We are also always happy to make one-on-one conversation times when you need more than a quick check–in about your child’s development.
Your child’s program information can generally be found inside your child’s room on the wall. Throughout enrolment and orientation, our educators will show you where this information is displayed and talk to you about how they will share your child’s journey with you. We love having you involved and will work with you individually to make sure this happens.
Our policies are kept in the reception area of our centre along with a brief description and break down in our Family Handbook. We are happy to provide these policies in languages other than English if required.

Our exclusion policy varies dependent on the condition or illness. Learning Ladder follows the Australian Government National Health and Medical Research Council guidelines ‘Staying Healthy in Childcare.’ We also follow Learning Ladder policies as set out in the Parent Handbook.

We would ask you to email the Centre Manager. We require 4 weeks notice to withdraw and 2 weeks notice to change days or decrease days.
If someone other than who you have written on your child’s enrolment information is coming to pick them up on your behalf you will need to notify the Centre in writing prior to the day. They will need to have photo ID on them for staff to view.
Your fees are direct debited from your nominated account and are paid a fortnight in advance. For more information please see our Family Handbook or speak to our Centre Manager.
We can accept a casual booking for childcare with prior notice where there is availability. Please contact your local centre directly or book via our app.
