Dramatic and Imaginative play is a kind of play where children take on roles and act them out as a way of exploring themselves and their surroundings. By pretending to be someone—or something—else, children can learn new ways to express themselves, share thoughts and ideas, and even get in touch with their feelings
In Kinder 1, The Dramatic Play Corner gives opportunities to children to pretend, imagine, and be creative. Children can pretend to be anyone and do anything. This term we have followed children’s interests and created an area that extends their knowledge and act out as being little doctors, surgeons, patients or nurses. This is awesome experience for our little learners. Engaging in Doctor’s Play promotes high-level thinking, problem solving, turn taking, and is a rich place for learning vocabulary.
Here at Learning Ladder, we encourage children to strengthen their imagination, creativity, social skills and communication skills in small and large group experiences and to provide children with a range of activities that extend interests. For children these experiences are essential for their relationships and development.
