S.T.E.M Experiences

Here at Learning Ladder, we constantly set up and create new S.T.E.M experiences that perfectly mix fun and learning to allow the children to discover and strengthen new ideas and interests while setting them up to succeed in the future.

The Insect Hunt

The children were given the opportunity to explore a range of natural resources where they had to discover toy insects using a magnifying glass. This experience allowed the children to see up close into the natural resources and the tiny insects, learning about discovery in a fun-filled way. This also teaches the children to understand the structures of science.

Inquiry based learning-Floating and sinking

When children engage in play-based, hands-on learning they are engaging in scientific experimentation. The Pre-Kinder children at Learning Ladder were faced with a question – “Will it sink or will it float?” Children hypothesize what might happen, and analyse their theories “Why?” The children then experiment through hands-on learning (inquiry-based learning) by testing their hypothesis – The Pre-kinder children did this by placing the different items into the water and watched the items float and sink.

Imaginative Play

Dramatic and Imaginative play is a kind of play where children take on roles and act them out as a way of exploring themselves and their surroundings. By pretending to be someone—or something—else, children can learn new ways to express themselves, share thoughts and ideas, and even get in touch with their feelings ...

Kinder Graduation 2022

Here at learning ladder we take celebrating milestones very seriously! We ensure we give our children the best send off to the next step of their journey! Celebrating milestones and achievements is a big thing at learning ladder and we want to make sure it's one you will always remember. On Thursday the 1st of December we held a graduation for our kinder children where they were gifted with medals, certificates and a small congratulations gift while in their gowns and hats.

Pet Rocks makes the perfect kids art and craft activity

Pet Rocks makes the perfect kids art and craft activity. This is a form of Process Art which sneaks in a lot of important learning. The Caterpillar children demonstrated interest in finding and collecting rocks from the garden and they like to keep those rocks with them. To further extend on their interest the educators provided them the opportunity to turn the rocks into a pet- Pet Rocks.

Practicing Sustainability -Gardening

Gardening is an educational, stimulating, and interesting activity for children in early childhood years. Being outdoors and getting their hands dirty is not only fun but children can also learn new skills while they play as well as developing fine motor skills and learning to grow their own food.

Diwali Celebration at Learning Ladder

Diwali is one of the largest festivals celebrated as part of the Hindu and Sikh culture. Allowing children to experience other cultures is important in creating a diverse community. With understanding comes acceptance and it is important to create this understanding as early as possible by allowing children from all cultures to share there experiences. Multicultural exposure allows children to see each other’s differences and accept them, which make them special and unique.

DINO ROAR!

Our mascot Larry had his cousins come and visit Learning Ladder Cranbourne! Here at learning ladder we thrive on exposure for children. Giving children exposure in different ways helps build their confidence and personality. Incursions like these expose children to all sorts of new scenarios and experiences. These experiences get their young minds working and learning about different problem and solutions! They get to learn how to think on their feet and come up with new and inventive solutions to various new experiences.

African Drumming- Cultural Diversity

Cultural Diversity is one of Learning Ladder's most important aspects of the program, being able to incorporate other cultures and explore a wide variety of ethnicities from around the world by celebrating whether it may be holidays, important dates, planned activities as well as fun filled incursions such as our African Drumming incursion!

Father's Day Special

Here at Learning Ladder ,Cranbourne to make this Father's Day 2022 more special, we organized a Father's Day Afternoon Tea for all the amazing dads and to say them thank you for the endless efforts they make to give their child the best in their lives. The super dads were pampered with massage, a visit from Superhero- Batman and delicious food and drinks. At the end they were honored with a gift of love made by their little ones. The dads also spend a quality time with their children in their respective rooms doing activities
