Learning Number

Numeracy is important for our young minds to learn in their first years because it is a time of rapid learning and development. Children begin to recognize numbers, patterns and shapes as they use math concepts to make sense of the world and connect concepts with their environment and everyday activities. While matching is an essential skill, it also helps improve a number of cognitive abilities like visual memory, short term memory, sorting and developing fine motor skills.

At Learning Ladder Cranbourne, we aim to provide all our children with a wide range of activities that will continue to strengthen young minds.

In Kinder 1, children have been learning to identify numbers from
1 – 20 using colored wooden circles with numbers on and matching numbers together on the big cardboard.
