Sand Art

Drawing in sand to create artwork is a great sensory experience alternative to traditional crayons and papers. It supports in developing skills in letter and number formation, building on thinking and creativity skills and sensory awareness.

In Dragonflies room the children were engaged in sand play.The open-ended nature of sand play allows the children to master their own direction in what they want to create. As they become more confident and comfortable creating their own designs it takes them to the next level to practice patterns such as dots and lines and drawing images.
