During the month of October, the Hindu Festival of Lights, Diwali, is celebrated worldwide. At Learning Ladder Wyndham, the children had the opportunity to join in the festivities with their own Diwali celebration. They embraced the spirit of the occasion by wearing traditional clothes, dancing to festive music, and engaging in creative activities such as decorating Diyas (traditional oil lamps).
In addition to the cultural crafts, the children also enjoyed a hands-on cooking experience, making delicious Indian sweets. Celebrating Diwali allowed them to explore and learn about the traditions and values of another culture, fostering an environment of community, joy, and belonging.
Through these shared experiences, the children not only had fun but also developed a deeper respect and understanding for diverse cultures, values, and beliefs, enriching their sense of global awareness.
