"FOSTERING LOVE FOR CARE THROUGH MONTESSORI LEARNINGS"

Centres Philosophy

AT LEARNING LADDER, WE ARE COMMITTED TO BUILDING A CULTURALLY INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY.
OUR PHILOSOPHY IS SIMPLE…
EVERY CHILD COUNTS!

At Learning Ladder- Early Years, Kindergarten & Montessori Learning Ladder we endeavour to meet all the possible needs of the children in our care. We aim to achieve this by providing a caring, safe, supportive, warm, happy and stimulating learning environment in our state-of-the-art child care centre.

Our vision is to be a centre where children, their families and educators flourish where children are central to everything. Our centre lay the foundation for a lifetime of joyful exploration and meaningful contributions to the world.

Learning Ladder values the partnership between families and staff. We value and pride ourselves on our partnership with families. We believe families are children’s first teachers and therefore we embrace parents, guardians and family involvement within our service. Participation by parents, guardians and families conveys a positive impression to children and allows them to feel supported and promotes a sense of belonging. We believe in offering an open-door policy in which families are welcome to visit the service when it is convenient for them.

Our balanced curriculum, of a Montessori program and Reggio Emilia approach offered a prepared environment which is ideal for learning and activates curiosity, practical life, language, mathematical skills, curiosity and freedom of choice. We View Early Education as an aid and a preparation for life whilst advocating for a child led program and focussing on holistic development of a child. We believe a child’s learning should be supported and encouraged through positive interactions and discussions with the child’s family on a regular basis. With this in mind, our service will commit to the Australian Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).

We aim to reflect diversity throughout our Centre, as well as in our programming. We have a positive and proactive approach to learn about and celebrate our rich cultural heritage. We strongly believe that early childhood education is the foundation of a child’s future. We believe that all children should be treated with equality, and their cultural diversity embraced and acknowledged. Importantly, we ensure children understand they have a voice and a say in their own education and care.

We have a family-centered approach in the delivery of services and our methods are informed by research, legislation and the collective skills and experience of our staff. We are a child safe organisation and have zero tolerance for child abuse. Implementing the Child Safe Standards, we work at every level to create culturally safe environments and protect children from abuse and harm.

We also strive to perform in all areas of what we do in order to continue to be recognised as one of Melbourne’s best child care centres.

Our commitment: – Learning Ladder- Early Years, Kindergarten & Montessori is committed to ensuring the cultural safety of all Aboriginal and Indigenous children within our service as well as all children. We recognise and celebrate the cultures, communities and achievements of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. As a service we are committed to seeking opportunities for continuous improvement.
