At Learning Ladder Narre Warren, we believe that numeracy is more than just numbers—it’s a vital life skill! Across all age groups, our educators thoughtfully embed numeracy into daily routines, play experiences, and group learning. Whether it’s counting during snack time, sorting colors and shapes, or exploring patterns in nature, children are engaged in fun, meaningful ways that spark curiosity and build confidence with numbers.
In our younger rooms, numeracy is introduced through sensory play, songs, and storybooks that highlight counting, sequencing, and comparisons. As children grow, so does the complexity of their learning. In our Kinder rooms, children are introduced to more advanced numeracy concepts through hands-on, engaging experiences. They explore number recognition, counting, sorting, pattern-making, and simple problem-solving using natural materials, puzzles, and group games. Educators support their learning by encouraging mathematical language during play and helping children make connections between numbers and everyday experiences.
Through these experiences, children develop critical thinking, pattern recognition, spatial awareness, and an understanding of the world around them. More importantly, they gain a love for learning and the confidence to ask questions, make predictions, and solve problems. At Learning Ladder Narre Warren, we’re laying the foundation for lifelong numeracy skills—one playful moment at a time!
