"FOSTERING LOVE FOR CARE THROUGH MONTESSORI LEARNINGS"

Diwali Celebration at Learning Ladder

Diwali is one of the largest festivals celebrated as part of the Hindu and Sikh culture. Allowing children to experience other cultures is important in creating a diverse community. With understanding comes acceptance and it is important to create this understanding as early as possible by allowing children from all cultures to share there experiences. Multicultural exposure allows children to see each other’s differences and accept them, which make them special and unique.

At Learning Ladder, we aim to embed multiculturism throughout our centre as much as possible. The children and educator had numerous opportunities to participate in Diwali celebration with enthusiasm and enjoyment. The children engaged in age-appropriate activities in their rooms ranging from making Diyas with clay to Mandola art rangoli on the floors and Heena art on their hands. The children also shook their legs on Bollywood Songs with their educators. The first Diwali celebration of Learning Ladder provided opportunity to the children to explore the festival of Diwali and how it is celebrated.
