What is as pure as the love and connections between a child and an animal!
Interactions with animals hold many benefits in early childhood development including helping children build a sense of connection with their environment and enabling them to learn about nature and how they can aid in the preservation of the different habitats.
In addition, pets can help children grow more confident, improve their self-esteem, social skills and overcome fears.
Learning Ladder Watsonia organized a wonderful incursion with the help of Myuna Farm who set up their mobile animal ark within the center which allowed children across all ages to participate and engage in this exciting experience.
Every one of the children were able to pat, play and feed the various animals including bunnies, ducklings, lambs, a beautiful dog and even a turtle came along!
Incursions like this enable educators to expose children to real life scenarios and learning outcomes as well as provide an experience based on children’s interests.
It is safe to say all our children as well as educators were overwhelmed with cuteness overload of all the well-mannered animals that joined us!
